Want to do something with your lashes? Not sure what lash treatment to choose? We hear you. With an array of lash treatments available, it can be confusing to know what’s right for you. Do you run with a lash lift or lash extensions?
Let’s break it down because they’re both very different.
What are lash extensions?
If you’ve spent years feeling like you got served the short end of the lash stick, lash extensions are right up your alley.
Allure Lash and Beauty Bar highly recommend lash extensions if you’ve got short, fine or sparse natural lashes.
Why? Because they extend the length of your current lashes and leave you with a fuller and darker looking lash set.
When you work with an experienced lash artist, they’ll advise you on a lash look that suits your eye and face shape. Choosing the right lash extensions will enhance your natural beauty—and who doesn’t want that!
Why lash extensions rock
Imagine waking up with eyes that pop without having to put on any mascara or eye makeup. You’ll start your day looking like a goddess, without any effort—a dream come true, right?
Lash extension maintenance
It’d be great if you didn’t have to lift a finger once your lashes are applied, but there is some necessary upkeep.1. Foam Cleanse—you’ll need to use a safe lash extension foaming cleanser daily to keep the lashes clean and natural lash follicles healthy.2. Lashes require refilling every 2-3 weeks as they grow and shed during the natural lash growth cycle.
What’s a lash lift?
Think of it as a perm for your lashes. Remember the voluminous, bouncy locks people sported in the 80s? It was totally on-trend, and if you’re too young to remember…well, there’s Google.
A lash lift sets the natural lashes upward into a curved position—hence the perm reference—which, opens the eye and creates the illusion of length.
We recommend this if you have longer and thicker natural lashes. If that’s not you, you can still have your lashes lifted; it’s just that the result won’t be as impressive—sorry.
Why lash lifts rock
In just 1-hour you can have gorgeous lashes. You’ll saunter out of the salon looking bright-eyed and youthful. People will probably ask you if you’ve done something to your hair. Give them a wink and keep your secret.
Another perk? A lash lift makes your lash curler redundant. Forget pinching your eyelid, dealing with watery eyes and running mascara. A lash lift won’t ever bite your eyeball—toss that baby out.
Lash lift maintenance
Your lash lift will grow out with your natural lash cycle, so the upkeep is less demanding than with lash extensions. To maintain your lash curl, get a lash lift every 6-8 weeks.
Aftercare is mainly keeping them dry and not wearing eye makeup for the first 24 hours after the treatment. After that, they’re very low maintenance.
Because a lash lift works with your natural lashes, you may still want to wear eye makeup or apply strip lashes for special occasions. But for your day-to-day adventures, a touch of mascara will do the trick.
