Whether you’re considering getting lash extensions for the first time, or you’re the queen of lash extensions, here are some tips to ensure your lashes last as long as possible.
Lash Tip 1 – Give your lashes lots of TLC
To make your lash extensions last longer, we highly recommend you stop rubbing your pretty eyes and do not sleep face down in your pillow. While it may be your favourite snoozing position, it’s not going to do much for your lashes.
We also suggest you engage in proper aftercare. It’s paramount. If you want your lashes to last, you’ll need to cleanse them daily. Don’t have time? Think of it as your daily meditation practice. Those extra minutes spent cleansing your lash extensions means less mirror time trying to perfect your lash curl. And when your lashes are on point, no matter what curveballs the world throws at you, you’ll be able to keep calm and carry on!
Lash Tip 2 – Three big no-no’s when you have lash extensions
Do not use mascara, eye pencil or gel eyeliner once your lash extensions are applied. Does hearing that make you panic? If so, we advise you to book refills more often and for a longer duration. Investing in that little extra salon time means your lashes will stay looking full and you won’t need to wear a lot of eye makeup. Your lash extensions will do the job for you.
Lash Tip 3 – Why do lash extensions last longer for some and not others?
Good question. Unfortunately, it’s the luck of the draw. Well, at least partially. Eyelid shape and size can influence how long your lashes will last. Those with hooded eyelids are at a adisadvantage. If that’s you, we suggest you follow Lash Tip #1 and give your lash extensions some extra lovin’ to make them last. Other factors, like having oily skin, hormonal imbalances, and taking certain medications, can sometimes affect lash retention.
If any of the above is a sincere concern, then chat to your lash artist, and they’ll advise you on how you can manage your lashes.
Most clients can go 2-3 weeks between lash refill appointments, so if you take time to care for your lashes, they’ll last. But we know some of you are lash perfectionists, and in your case, it’s likely you’ll want to stop by for refills more frequently—we know you don’t like having a lash out of place!
